As 2015 draws to a close and we are looking ahead to the coming year, we are very pleased to announce that our membership is increasing from the ten current members to include two additional charities: the Alzheimer’s Society and Arthritis Research UK.

As a coalition of leading health and social care organisations in the voluntary sector working together as a collective voice to better influence health and care policy and practice, our two new members will ensure that we are able to better represent the people living with a broader range of long term health conditions.

Dr Liam O’Toole, CEO of Arthritis Research UK, said: “We're delighted that we will now be a member of the Richmond Group of Charities. This is a hugely important step which will create a synergy between existing long-term conditions care and the prevention and treatment of arthritis. It'll ensure improving the quality of life for people with arthritis is embedded in future health and social care policy alongside other long-term conditions.”

Jeremy Hughes, CEO of the Alzheimer’s Society, said "Alzheimer's Society looks forward to adding its reach and experience to the combined efforts of the Richmond Group to improve the lives of patients and their carers".

Charlotte Augst, Richmond Group Partnership Director, welcomed the new members on behalf of the whole Group, stating that “2015 has been a successful year for the Richmond Group, where we had many important conversations about how to use the Five Year Forward View transformation efforts to make health and care more person centred and sustainable. Arthritis Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society will help us to bring even more evidence, insight and impactful practice to these conversations.”
